"If you din't visit these places, don't say you've been around Canberra."

Redhill Lookout

Great city scenery, well-built walking path into the nature, and restaurant. Combine the views with food and wine in one of the two eateries; Onred or the more casual Little Brother.
Dairy Farmers Hill

It is part of the National Arboretum. You will have the perfect outlook across all of West Canberra and beyond.
Mount pleasant

Great scenery with some history information at the lookout. Visit the grave of General Bridges, Australia’s highest-ranking soldier in World War I. General Bridges was the only Australian soldier killed at Gallipoli to be buried in Australia.
Boundless Playground

One of the largest playgrounds in Canberra for children and family.
Yerrabi Pond

One of the few peaceful lakes in Canberra for a nice walk.
Cockington Green Garden

It is an interesting place to visit with 21 AUD for adult. There are houses and monuments from more than 30 different countries, from Scotland’s Braemer Castle to Peru’s Machu Picchu, you’ll be captivated by this enchanting world of tiny people and tiny structures. Also, the flowers are beautiful during the spring season.
Quizzic Alley

Australia's largest range of official Harry Potter merchandise and the only store of its kind in NSW or the ACT.
Fyshwich Fresh Food Market

Canberra institution and Canberra’s oldest markets. There are many types of foods that you can get here especially the seafood, meat and vegetables. In my opinion, the seafood here is the best in Canberra. The Japanese Matcha soft serve is famous here as well.
Gibraltar Fall

The only waterfall in the Canberra and the view is superb.
Kambah Adventure Park

There's a tree house, junior and senior flying foxes, giant swings, space net and many more. It is an interesting place for family and friend to let lose.
Pine Island Reserve

Enjoy flat ground that's ideal for walking and lovely views of the Murrumbidgee River.
Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve

See koalas, kangaroos, birds, reptiles and more in the natural setting. Keep an eye open for wandering wallabies and emus, and you may even catch a glimpse of an elusive platypus!
Cotter Dam

Supply source of potable water for the city of Canberra and its environs.
Mount Painter

Enjoy unhindered views of Canberra and the Brindabellas after a 25-minute trail up the hill.
Shepherd’s Lookout

Great scenery and lookout for the ACT border.
Western Foreshore Park

Nice park, with a small playground and nearby flying fox. There is also a miniature car road in the park suitable for children to play in.
Bruce Pink Lank
(Millennial Pink Lake)

Turns out the pink stuff is an Australian native fern species called Azolla Pinnata and the fact it's pink usually signals good water quality.
Lake Ginninderra

One of the artificial lakes in Canberra with nice and calm view.
GG's Flowers

Local family business where they grow many fresh and beautiful flowers. Highly recommend to visit their website to see other flower options.
Mini Landscapes

Local business where you can buy terrarium or you could DIY. The owner is very friendly and patient with the customers to build the terrarium. She would also share her story on the origin of her business. Do visit their page and contact the for more info.
Stargazing

Lake George Lookout (Weereewa Lookout)
Although it is located at NSW but it is only 30 minutes from Canberra city. During the night, the whole area would be pitch black. There is also a toilet nearby which is very convenient and clean.
Dairy Farmers Hill Lookout
I am unsure whether this place is assessible at night as this is located in the National Arboretum. You would need to pass through a gate first before entering this area.

Mount Stromlo
I heard from others that the sky might be not as dark as above the 2 places due to the light pollution from the city. But it does has a large view of the sky which is good for stargazing as well. Due to COVID-19, I was unable to go up the hill so I do not have any good picture of it.
