Firstly, you would need to have:
LinkedIn
Social Media Check (clean any post or images that would impact your reputation)
Building up
Research on any mentoring program in your college (eg. CBE has MAP program by AFEC) as they would provide academic or career advices
ANU Career Hub has many useful workshops
ANU career consultation and CBE consultation (resume, cover letter, interview) are very beneficial (visit at least once) through ANU Career Hub Appointment
CV 360 is an important tool for checking your CV
ANU Library has a list of subscription that is always under-utilised by students
EdX or LinkedIn Learning could get you some new skills
CBE Internship Program, CBE Special Industry Project and MomentuM are programs that assist ANU students to be work-ready when they are graduated
CBE Internship and CBE Special Industry take up course credit
MomentuM can be done above of normal courses
Finding work at Canberra
Go to career fair that is organised by ANU or student associations like AFEC, ASOC, ANU Finance Society or RoboGals
Inside Sherpa would provide you a lot virtual internship (useful for programming students)
ANU Jobs might provide you with well-paid internal opportunities
Get your friends to recommend you to casual jobs (connection make application easier and faster)
ANU Career Hub, Seek, Jobs and Internships FB page and Gradconnection are great career browsing tool
General Tip
If you have 2 jobs, manage your time efficiently because you can easily exceed the 40 hours cap
You will get tax once you earn more than AUD18,200
Remember to lodge your tax no matter you exceed the tax free threshold or not
Apply to internships during first year to get the application process experience and ace in your graduate job application
